Hey. Happy Friday from the Station.
A little prayer for peace over your house today, and for every kid who gets to pick a comic off the shelf.
Waco's still that warm late-September air. Good for a shop run. If you're out between Valley Mills and downtown, drink some water.
It's National Comic Book Day, Friday Sep 25. Pull a favorite issue. Finish the graphic novel you started. Or just go stand in a shop and smell the paper.
The local pull is Bankston's Comics and Collectibles at 1321 S Valley Mills Dr, Waco, TX 76711. (254) 755-0070. They're usually Tuesday through Saturday 9 to 6, closed Sunday and Monday, so confirm before you drive. Map. If you want a second stop, Collect 'Em Again is at 930 Austin Ave.
If you're out with the kids Saturday Sep 26, the Dr Pepper Museum has a library pop up from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Story time, a craft, and free museum admission with a library card.
Saturday and Sunday, Art Center Waco at 701 S 8th, 76706, has gallery hours for Being Held. The Art Edu 2026 call closes Sunday Sep 27. Mayborn is an easy family stop too.
Tuesday Sep 29 is National Coffee Day. That window is almost closed.
See you next time,
Love, blessings y bendiciones.
Lola
